REACH - Registration of Natural Complexe Substances - Guidelines
UNITIS has developed strong efforts in order to establish Standard Operation Procedures for the registration of the Natural Complex Substances (NCS) used in cosmetics.
All this work was made with the COLIPA, the cosmetic industry and other links of the supply chain in order to make the NCSs used in cosmetics well defined and known.
It includes in particular: a listing of categories of NCSs used as cosmetic ingredients, a practical guidance on techniques of separation of the botanical fraction from its carrier or carrying solvent, and examples of NCS identification.

REACH - Position Paper of the Supply Chain
UNITIS together with the cosmetic supply chain AISE, Colipa, EFEO, EFFEA, EUROPAM, IFEAT, IFRA have recently signed a common Position Paper concerning the registration of the Natural Complex Substances (NCS) within the framework of the REACH project. It is historically the first time when the whole supply chain of a category of ingredients, from farmers to downstream users, succeeds in building up a common position stated at European level.
The document is issued from the necessity of making the REACH regulations more adapted to the numerous SMEs concerned by these substances. All the signatory organizations confirmed their clear intention to work together on operational solutions to propose to the regulatory authorities.
