CLP Regulation


 
 
 
CLP stands for Regulation No 1272/2008 on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending REACH Regulation. It came into force on 20 January 2009 and aligns existing EU legislation to the United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

Corrigendum to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
 
 
 
    IMPLEMENTING LEGISLATION
 
Commission Regulation (EU) No 440/2010 of 21 May 2010 on the fees payable to the European Chemicals Agency pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
 
 
 
    1st ADAPTATION TO TECHNICAL PROGRESS (ATP) TO THE CLP REGULATION
 
Commission Regulation (EU) No 790/2009 of 10 August 2009 amending, for the purposes of its adaptation to technical and scientific progress, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
The 1st ATP to the CLP Regulation entered into force on 25 September 2009.
 
 
 
    2nd ADAPTATION TO TECHNICAL PROGRESS (ATP) TO THE CLP REGULATION
 
 Commission Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 of 10 March 2011 amending, for the purposes of its adaptation to technical and scientific progress, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
The 2nd ATP to the CLP Regulation entered into force on 19 April 2011.
